Entries are now open for the 2015 MAX Indigenous Art Competition

Launching in NAIDOC week around Australia, MAX Employment is eager to celebrate the diversity and tradition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artwork with an art competition and finalists' exhibition.

The competition is open to all art forms, including painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery and weaving (but excluding photography and digital artworks).

  • Major Prize Winner - $2,000 cash prize
  • Major Prize Winner Youth - $1,000 in acquisitive prizes

Twelve artworks from the competition will be selected by a judging panel to feature in a finalists' exhibition held at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE).

The winners and finalists will be notified on Friday 04 September 2015 by phone and/or email, and the winner will be publicly announced on the opening night of the exhibition on Thursday 19 November 2015.

The two major prize winners will be flown to Sydney to attend the exhibition opening night. Overnight accommodation and travel expenses to and from the airport and venue will be provided by MAX Employment.
