The Sales and Marketing Officer role has a strong focus on sales and will work with the Tjanpi team to acquire, market, promote and sell Tjanpi fibre art through appropriate wholesale, direct retail, exhibitions, prizes and curatorial opportunities.

About the Role

The Sales and Marketing Officer role has a strong focus on sales and will work with the Tjanpi team to acquire, market, promote and sell Tjanpi fibre art through appropriate wholesale, direct retail, exhibitions, prizes and curatorial opportunities.

Working within the established strategic business and marketing plans, this role will execute these plans to achieve revenue and business outcomes which will ensure the overall sustainability of Tjanpi as an enterprise.

More specifically, this role will see you:

  • Service existing and source new commercial clients, meeting retail and wholesale sales targets.
  • Manage the Tjanpi online content and multiple social media platforms to promote on-line sales, service offerings, publicity and donations through the Tjanpi website.
  • Planning and implementation of exhibition program, festival events and awards that provide maximum exposure and revenue generating opportunity for the Tjanpi enterprise.
  • Day to day management of the Alice Springs based retail outlet.
  • Day to day supervision of Retail Assistants.

Tjanpi is seeking passionate and motivated individuals:

  • With a strong track record in sales gained in a retail, business to business (B2B) or direct sales role.
  • An appreciation of contemporary arts.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills for managing and prioritising competing demands autonomously in a complex working environment.
  • High level computer skills including knowledge of a range of software programs and electronic filing and information retrieval systems ( word press, adobe, word, excel would be highly regarded).
  • The ability to work with patience and good humour in a cross-cultural environment with Tjanpi artists from remote communities, and staff and customers from various backgrounds.
