DO YOU HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR A COMMUNITY ART PROJECT?

CAN WA is currently calling for applications for the September round of the Catalyst Community Arts Fund. There are four categories with a total of $125,000 available. Each project can apply for up to $15,000 in funding.

The aim of Catalyst is to encourage community engagement and participation in the arts and promote empowerment and social inclusion. Last year the fund helped to employ more than 214 artists to create art with more than 12,000 people.

Recent successful Catalyst projects include 'Gascoyne Fire Tableaux' - an arts project where local artists and community members created fire sculptures; 'Hunting For Foxes' - a contemporary photography project in Mullewa that explored the issue of identity; and the Theatre Kimberley Outreach program.

For more information, or to discuss your idea, contact funding manager Jill Brown on (08) 9226 2422 or jill@canwa.com.au, or visit CAN WA's website.
