Arts Law FREE webinar - Drafting a Will

Monday, 3 November 2014

Key Dates:

On-line:  Wednesday 12 November at 4.30pm (EST).

Arts Law Centre Deputy Director Delwyn Everard will talk about the Artists in the Black wills project. Pre-registration is required.

In this webinar, Deputy Director Delwyn Everard gives details of the Artists in the Black wills project, including communication strategies when dealing with the cultural sensitivities around estate planning, and taking instructions from Indigenous will makers with low literacy or those not confident with the English language.

This session will also cover basic wills drafting including remainder clauses, survivorship clauses and avoiding partial intestacy as well as execution issues.

The Arts Law Centre of Australia has been assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island artists to make wills and advising the next of kin of deceased Indigenous artists how to navigate the intestacy laws for over eight years as part of the Artists in the Black outreach legal advice program.

Register for Arts Law's FREE webinar on 12 November 4.30pm (EST) here.
