Tuesday, 27 May 2014

Key Dates:

Applications close:  31 July 2014

Wesfarmers Arts and the National Gallery of Australia designed this program with the goal to increase Indigenous leadership within the visual arts sector.

In 2009, the National Gallery of Australia and Wesfarmers Limited established the Wesfarmers Arts Indigenous Fellowship program to address the relatively small percentage of Indigenous professionals participating in the visual arts sector.

One component of the Fellowship program is the Indigenous Arts Leadership program, which provides an opportunity for up to 10 Indigenous Australians to travel to the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra and learn about the visual arts and museum sector over 10 days.

The aim of the Leadership program is to build and connect people, working in Country and at the National Gallery of Australia, and to promote and share knowledge and experiences to strengthen work practices and provide professional support.
