Artists of the Kimberley, Western Australia and beyond are invited to enter the prestigious Kimberley Art Prize 2014.

The prestigious art prize, now in its 44th year, is facilitated annually by the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley and has the distinction of being the longest running Art Prize in Western Australia as well as one of the most remote art competitions in Australia.

Award categories for 2014. They are Woodside Emerging Artist, Indigenous, Oils and Acrylics, Watercolour and Pastel, Mixed Media, Drawing, Open Non-Kimberley, Boab Nut Carving, Youth Award (12-17 years) and People's Choice.
The Kimberley Art Prize Overall Winner stands to win $10,000

Award Categories for 2014:

  • OVERALL WINNER - $ 10,000
  • EMERGING ARTIST AWARD - $ 5,000
  • INDIGENOUS AWARD - $ 1,000
  • OILS AND ACRYLICS AWARD - $ 1,000
  • WATERCOLOUR & PASTEL AWARD - $ 1,000
  • MIXED MEDIA AWARD - $ 1,000
  • DRAWING AWARD - $ 1,000
  • OPEN NON-KIMBERLEY AWARD - $ 1,000
  • BOAB NUT CARVING AWARD - $ 1,000
  • YOUTH AWARD (12 to 17 years) 1st Prize - $ 500
  • YOUTH AWARD (12 to 17 years 2nd Prize - $ 300
  • PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD - $ 1,000
