Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts in Education EOI

Tuesday, 8 October 2013

Calling all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and cultural educators – come and be a part of a new online arts education resource for teachers.

ArtsEdge is currently seeking new resource content for its website at www.artsedge.dca.wa.gov.au. A new resource portal specifically designed to profile Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and culture in education is now in development.

This new online arts education resource aims to assist educators with their classroom delivery of the cross-curriculum priority area of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures by providing links to arts and cultural contacts either for further study or direct engagement.

The information provided through this portal also seeks to inspire schools to undertake artist-in-residence projects with Indigenous artists, and/or plan innovative incursions or excursions.

For artists or arts and cultural organisations, the portal will be a place where arts and cultural programs and/or services can be promoted to the education sector.

The Expression of Interest form can be downloaded from the ArtsEdge website http://www.artsedge.dca.wa.gov.au/news/Pages/ATSI-arts-education-resource.aspx.

Further enquiries to ArtsEdge (08) 6552 7300 or artsedge@dca.wa.gov.au.
