Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre, located on the Gibb River Rd in the Kimberley region of WA, is looking for someone with a combination of energy, social and emotional intelligence, integrity, curiosity, creativity and passion for Indigenous art and culture to join the team.

The art centre facilitates the production and sale of paintings, limited edition prints and artifacts, sells books and merchandise, undertakes a range of special projects, operates a multi-media and archive centre, stages the annual Mowanjum Festival, and hosts thousands of tourists every year. There are currently 16 Indigenous staff, 8 Cultural Mentors and 8 Artworkers, and 3.5 non Indigenous staff.

The primary objective of this position is to encourage and develop painting and other visual art forms at Mowanjum and associated communities.

The Art Development Coordinator will work closely with artists both established and emerging to create work of exhibition standard. They will take responsibility for the on site gallery and mentor and supervise Gallery and Studio Trainees, and assist the Manager with the external exhibition program and with project development and grant writing.
