Tuesday, 1 November 2011

The Honourable Simon Crean MP Minister for the Arts recognised the contribution that Indigenous artwork is making to the global art space in his opening speech for the World Summit on Arts and Culture in Melbourne.

"Indigenous painting is well recognised in the global art space. Less well recognised is the significance of the 80 Indigenous-owned and governed community art centres. These build capacity among artists and bring communities together," Said Hon Simon Crean.
