Tuesday, 1 November 2011

Martumili Artists Jakayu Biljabu, Rosie Williams and Multatingki Marney and Spinifex Arts Project artists Anne Hogan and Debbie Hansen were given the honour and privilege of meeting Her Majesty The Queen on her recent visit to Melbourne.

The National Gallery of Victoria welcomed Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia on Wednesday 26 October 2011.

Her Majesty visited the Living Water exhibition, which contains works by artists from Martumili Artists and Spinifex Arts Project, among others. Some of the artists sang and danced for Her Majesty, and Multatingki Marney presented Her Majesty with her painting titled Minyi Puru.

It was a wonderful experience that will no doubt go down in history for all of the participating artists.
